I've always been a fan of flashcards. They're a great way to memorize facts that are hard to remember. While studying for the USMLE Step 1, I used Anki, a free flashcard program that works on Windows, Mac, and Linux. You can also get it for iphone but you'd have to buy it from the app store.
There are already some USMLE step 1 anki flashcards out there that you can download. I used some of these. I've also created some of my own for subjects that I didn't find flash cards for.
The “Biochemistry” and “Goljan” decks are the ones that I downloaded. I didn't create these. I’ve modified them a bit and corrected a few mistakes, however there are still a lot of grammar and spelling mistakes in them. I didn’t have time to go through them all and correct the mistakes. If anyone wants to do that, I’m sure others will be grateful.
The other decks were created by me. They are not meant to be comprehensive. For the most part, they are based on First Aid. I included topics that I had trouble with or needed to review more often, so these may or may not reflect what you would put on a flashcard. Nevertheless, these helped me a lot during step 1 prep, and I hope they help you too. You can always add, remove, or modify Anki flashcards at your own will.
You’ll find that the Pharmacology and Microbiology decks only have general topics in them; this is because I bought flash cards for these subjects. I will post links for these below.
If anyone would like to modify this file and re-upload it with corrections or additions, go ahead and do that, I won’t mind at all.
